Help Please : titration of ferrous ion in a Copper sulfate solution

hello,
I have solutions of copper sulfate containing iron with a
concentration varying from 0.5 to 5 g/l and I am looking for a method
to determine the concentration of ferrous ion in the solution. please
let me know which procedure, chemicals(titrant) should I use? if you
have any helpful documents please send them to kimiaiboy @ hotmail .
com

Does acetoin smell like stale cheese at high concentrations?

Hi:

I am currently interested in acetoin and its odor. From what I’ve read,
at small concentrations, acetoin has a pleasant buttery odor.

Does acetoin stink like rotten cheese at much higher concentrations?

I asked because many other odorous compounds I’ve looked at often have a
pleasant smell at small concentrations but start to stink at high
concentrations. For example, butryic acid and diacetyl smell like fresh
butter at low level but as the concentration is increased, either of
those two chemicals will start to smell like stinky feet/decomposed
cheese. In another example, indole and skatole smell like jasmine at low
concentrations but at high level [surprise!] they smell like feces.

Is the same true for acetoin?

beginner NH3 question

Reading a book that says nitrogen’s 2p orbitals have less energy that
H’s – Don’t outer lying electrons have more energy than electrons
closer to the nucleus as in H’s  ??

PURPOSE / HISTORY:

   MSV’08 is part of WORLDCOMP’08.  WORLDCOMP is the largest annual
   gathering of researchers in computer science, computer engineering
   and applied computing; it is composed of a number of joint

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS:

   Prospective authors are invited to submit their full paper
   (about 5 to 7 pages – single space, font size of 10 to 12) to
   Prof. H. R. Arabnia by March 10, 2008 (h…@cs.uga.edu). email
   submissions in MS Doc or PDF formats are preferable.  All
reasonable
   typesetting formats are acceptable (later, the authors of accepted
   papers will be asked to follow a particular typesetting format
   to prepare their papers for publication.)

   The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited
to
   7 (IEEE style) pages.  Papers must not have been previously
published
   or currently submitted for publication elsewhere.  The first page
of
   the draft paper should include: title of the paper, name,
affiliation,
   postal address, and email address of each author as well as the
name
   of the conference the paper is being submitted to (ie, MSV’08).
   The first page should also identify the name of the Contact Author
   and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that would best represent the
   content of the paper.

   Each paper will be refereed by two experts in the field who are

How much % asbestos in sand paint ca 1965

What is the fraction of asbestos in "sand paint"?

If I had to guess by gut I would say one third because that is about what
they put in drywall mud, right?  And that it was probably the same kind of
Vermont white asbestos as plaster.  I know it isn’t sand because in 1994 I
hit it with a hammer (I was hitting a nail on the wall and the hammer scraped
the ceiling) and it was white dust. I know the new textures are like chaulk
foam, so I gotta believe there was something other than just asbestos in the
old "sand" paint. I remember like in 1975 when I read the contents of a
gallon of "sand paint" and I was surprised it said it had asbestos.

Titrate?  Or "measure by any reasonable means"?
Try atomic absorption or ICP.

Have you checked textbooks of inorganic analysis (e.g., Vogel or
Kolthoff)?

Is this an academic inquiry or business related?  If you just need the
number and don’t care about the method or don’t have an AA or ICP, a
business will just send their samples to a lab for analysis (Yellow
Pages for local listings; internet to send samples anywhere in the
world, also with quick turnaround).

seeking a quotation

   Years ago a chemistry prof of mine gave a quotation during a
chromatography  lecture something like this " I can purify the devil
and put him in a test tube if you can provide the assay."  He
attributed this quote to some famous chemist.   I no longer remember
the details and would like to find the original attribution.   Gut
instinct says it would come from on old German enzymologist like
